Re: Log: Evelyn/Mina
[Mina's life had been quite small, and she didn't have words for this broadening. She'd oft told Vanessa that she was the one to go ahead, to bravely venture into the unknown. She'd done so in marriage, in infidelity, in a tarnished name and petticoats tossed up. But this was entirely different. This was like Sir Malcolm and darkest, deepest Africa, dusty walls and decrepit carpet, and even Peter would think this bold from within his grave.
Evelyn tugged, and Mina was obedient little steps crafted by governess and nanny. She followed, and she could hardly believe there was more than this, but Evelyn insisted more did await, and Mina looked over her shoulder as she tried to accept the fact that her entire world had been merely space behind a rather ordinary looking door.
And there were more doors, so many of them, and Mina looked at them all before pointing to a rather plain one.] That one. What's behind it? [She assumed Evelyn would know, that perhaps the world beyond had names for these places that Mina was only beginning to accept as truths.]
