Re: gotham; a bat and a turtle
One eyebrow arched, and a relaxed smile rested on her lips, "An internal pre-programmed GPS? If only that technology were available. No one would ever get lost, and everyone would know right where they were supposed to be. Downfall, sometimes it's fun to get lost. It would also put the people that make the 'you are here' signs out of business." He was funny. At least she thought he was. It was enough for her to be comfortable enough to be more silly than concerned with what he may think of her, and she was far too often concerned with what people thought of her.
Donna smiled softly, and looked up at Bruce. "Some people only know to see the terrible. It doesn't mean that everything is terrible. Social conditioning. It's become so prevalent to only pay attention to what we're shown, and the news is never any good. We forget to look for ourselves. There's always more to appreciate than we realize." She was rambling again, but she meant what she said. Donna had to learn to be an optimist, now it was second nature. Blindingly so. Still, she dropped her gaze and flustered as she caught herself going off on nothing that Bruce needed to hear. He knew. Of course he did. "Perhaps not kind, but not so cruel as to blink entire civilizations out of existence?" There was a pause before she threw her hands up in mock-exasperation. She wasn't frustrated, merely cutting him off at the pass, as it were. "You know what, I don't think I want to know the real answer. You've been very honest, and I appreciate that, but I think I'd prefer if this answer was candy coated. Even if only for the moment."
She sighed long and low, a resignation to the inevitable. It wasn't exactly believable, but what choice did she have? A month ago she would have said what she was doing right this moment was unbelievable, yet here she was, walking the streets of Gotham with Bruce Wayne talking about a magical hotel. Turning into a wolf wasn't too much further outside of the realm of imagination. "I'm sorry, I probably have far more questions than there are answers. We don't have to talk about that." They weren't going to solve anything today, and she didn't want to keep him from the important things he needed to do. "Was there anything you wanted to ask me? I feel like I've been entertaining my theories long enough."
