Re: gotham; a bat and a turtle
"Perhaps." Bruce knew how to smile without actually smiling. "Or some sort of navigation system. To point is in the right direction." It was an innocent enough suggestion. "In addition to a 'you are here' sign." Sometimes, he managed a sense of humor.
To do what he did, one had to be capable of optimism. Who could find the strength to fight a battle believed to be hopeless? No, he had hope. But he was, too, a realist, and he acknowledged the reality of Gotham while striving for a brighter future. "I'm glad you like it," he said, and the sentiment was genuine. The city had a lot of problems, but it was important to him; a lot of people didn't understand it. There was good to be found, even now, if one knew where to look. "Gotham isn't all terrible, though some may think so." As for what the hotel would and wouldn't let happen, his brow furrowed. He sighed. "The hotel isn't known to be kind. If a hotel can be, or not be, such a thing." Though it was no ordinary building, that much was clear.
He fully expected Donna to react with skepticism. Even to his own ears, it sounded rather... unbelievable. She would find out for herself soon enough, however, the dreams were only the beginning. His expression, the tip of his head, they all said the same thing; yes, he knew how it sounded, but it was true. "Yes, people do get skipped over. I admit I'm not sure if it happens every time, but it does happen."
