Re: gotham; a bat and a turtle
This wasn't the workplace, and she wasn't his employee. Here, he wasn't the boss. He wasn't Mr. Wayne, CEO—he wasn't even Batman. He was just Bruce; he wasn't just Bruce often. It was almost like an escape. No mobs, no dwindling family, no responsibilities, even if only for an hour or two.
He raised his eyebrows in good-natured amusement. "Ah. So 'here' is where we're going, and 'there' is to be left behind us?" Regardless of here or there, they walked away from Wayne Tower, and he tipped his head to the side as he listened to her answer. "Normal for these sorts of doors, yes," he agreed. "Marvel has HYDRA and the occasional supervillain. Gotham has the mob and... well, a number of what you would know better as comic book villains that come and go." No mention of his own participation in Marvel's most recent battle. "There are quiet periods, yes. But don't let the moments of calm deceive you, Donna. They often precede an even bigger storm." He paused. "Which isn't very reassuring. Gotham tends to be more chaotic than most, however. Marvel is less extreme. And the hotel tends to intervene on holidays—Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day."
