[Appointments were made for her to come in and talk during business hours, to really try and figure out some of these issues and to make sense of them, and by the time Meredith was buzzed out of the treatment area, she was feeling better. She wasn't feeling good, but better than she had before, better about how things could be in the future.
She thanked the doctor at the door, just before it closed behind her, and she turned around to see if Neil had arrived or if she'd be waiting again. But to her surprise (well, not surprise, but something close), he was already there, standing, watching for her. Seeing him there, she could see that he was tired, that all of this was weighing heavily on him, and Meredith felt guilty about all that was going on. So she approached slowly, purse over her shoulder, the skin around her nose already going a fabulous shade of purple, and she tried a smile on for size.]
