You tell the shrink you reacted the way you did because you had reason to believe your daughter was in danger. And that you realize you could have handled it differently, and then you rattle off something from your anger management pamphlet. You don't have to give them everything, you don't have to say you messed up or that the guy was in the right. Just make them believe you've been paying attention and learning something. You don't have to say you should have handled it differently, just say all the ways it could have been handled. If he asks if you could do it again, don't say anything shitty about ripping his head off.
Every time he asks you a question, you think before you answer it, or at least give the illusion of thinking, before you answer it. They love that shit.
Take responsibility, don't start with blaming the fuckstick. 'I over reacted, because I had reason to believe my kid was in danger. I realize I could have handled it differently,' just like that.
