Re: Loggything: Penny and Clementine
"Stop being all logical and easy and let me overcomplicate everything," she said with a playful roll of her eyes.
Penny was plenty pushy, Cris was usually her prime target, but when you spent day in and day out with someone you felt entitled to push. That wasn't the case anymore. Not even close to it. It had her a little more concerned about the state of the relationship as a whole than she cared to admit or think about - but since she was drunk she was stewing on it - but she tried to think normal. Still she nodded, she knew she'd call, she'd check, she was fighting her fingers for reaching for the phone now but drunk dialing was not in the cards. As a matter of fact, just for good measure she reached for her phone and handed it over to Clem, just in case. "I can have that back tomorrow," she said, the epitome of responsibility. Designated driver, designated phone guardian, she was on top of it.
Penny didn't think Cris was dumb, but she was pretty sure she'd follow that train of thought right through a drunken phone call. Especially since he'd rounded the evening out by calling himself stupid and running off. She huffed again.
Penny was doing alright as far as the speed went, so long as Clem didn't spin around and do donuts all night she thought the rest of the liquor and one order of cheese fries would stay where it was. "I don't mind," and she didn't. Her elbow was leaning against where the window was rolled down and her head was in her hand, enjoying the night air with the speed. That part felt good, she could go with faster. She had the dog waiting on her at home, but she had the doggy door and the food, and would be as happy to see her in a detour time as she would be in thirty minutes. And she was bringing home a friend to sniff, so she'd be forgiven anything.
