Re: quicklog: Gwen S/Jason T
[Keeping Jason out of Marvel remained important, but Gwen kind of didn't want to walk to the library on her own that night, and she easily convinced herself that it was a logical choice to be accompanied. If she opened the door for Jason, and then closed it after him, it would be perfectly safe. The entire walk would only take a few minutes, and she'd been listening to the police bands as she worked on her her early syllabus review for her summer classes. She hadn't heard anything that indicated Carnage was in the vicinity, and she hadn't seen Jason since Flash was injured. And she had this weird desire to see the people she cared about, and she knew that was all related to her dreams and the scary monster behind the doors there.
But, she reasoned, this would be totally okay. She'd walk to the library with Jason, and then she'd talk to Harry, and then she'd toss pebbles at Peter's window, and then she'd go home and wake Flash up and make him watch infomercials with her until sunrise.
She didn't realize there was a fight for her in progress. Harry's interest had disappeared along with his insanity, and she was just waiting for things with Peter and Mary Jane to coalesce. In the meantime, she was working on her abilities, though she really needed to get Peter to help her with sensing and sticking to things. She was better at the webs every day, but webs weren't exactly a proactive tool, not the way she utilized them.
But right now, she just wanted to walk outside. It was warm and bright out. The clarity of the night sky, combined with the transparency, photometric stability and humidity, meant the stargazing was really good, and she was leaning out an open window in the classroom when Jason knocked on the door frame.]
Come here. [She motioned, excited, and she pointed out the window at a boxy looking constellation.] It's Berenice's Hair. [She traced it as she squinted, leaning there in a little denim skirt and teal t-shirt with NYU printed on the front in puffy letters.] Want to know where the name comes from? [She smiled, obviously intent on telling him, regardless of his cooperation.]
