Our flag, it's a rectangle, with a blue square in the upper left corner, called the "union," wherein there are fifty, small, white five-pointed stars, representing the 50 states. The rest, outside of the canton, is striped, alternating red and white for the original thirteen colonies. The colors, of course, have their own symbolism. Blue for justice, perseverance. White for purity. Red for courage, blood spilled.
My [...] outfit is [...] influenced by it. That's what they mean.
