Re: babs/jason
Huntress? Since when is she around?
I don't know what Selina thinks. I'm not in her head. I'm not saying get behind her taking over the Falcones, I'm saying work with her to take them down.
It sounds like you don't know this Bruce or Selina so well, if you really think that. I don't know who she was working with on this, but I'd put money on Bruce at least knowing about it. And Bruce is nowhere, so that leaves Selina with her hand on the leash and no plan B, right? We have someone who hates the mob at the head of it. Maybe she's crazy, or maybe she really does think she can fix things by toning them down. That doesn't mean nobody can convince her to pull the wheels off it, and it would mean less people get killed.
I trust Selina, even if she is being a short-sighted idiot. You want freedom in Gotham? No mobs, no organized crime? It doesn't matter how many footsoldiers you lock up, there's always somebody around to take their place. The way to get rid of them is to take everything the families built apart, so there's nothing left for them to pick up and move on. Nobody's in a better position to do that right now than Selina Kyle.
People are 'shackled' because they're poor and there's nothing else, and that's not likely to change in Gotham any time soon unless the mobs go completely. Nobody's going to turn around tomorrow and give up their life of crime because they realized they're a part of a 'corrupt system.' Never worked on me. Poor people who work for the families know the system is corrupt, Babs. They're poor and out of options, not stupid. We need a wrecking ball, here, not to bash our heads on the wall. It makes you feel better to see someone kick the shit out of your pimp, but that's not going to break up the families by itself.
If you're waiting on a revolution against the mobs, you'll be looking forever, unless we do something to pull the rug out from under them.
