Clearly she was different. Cris' smile was evident in white on black, but there was concern too. His hooked finger reeled that glass in to his palm, and he skittered it out of the way, like it was a distraction. He was fully prepared to keep talking about Penny and her stuff, 'cause like her, he didn't like the introspection thing either and he was probably worse at it than she was. But, then she made the comment about the job rec, and he sighed, 'cause it wasn't like he could keep it from her, calling her from jail and all that.
"Y'know, you don't need me to get you in the door there. They're shorthanded—and, even if they weren't, you know you're a contender. But, yeah, maybe don't drop my name. I'm the guy with excessive force charges and maybe worse lookin' at him for beatin' a civilian outside his home." He parted his palms in a 'what can you do' kinda gesture, before he took to his beer again. Licking the froth from his top lip, he said: "Guy brought up Teresita, y'know?"
