Re: Gotham: Zatanna, Louis, Eddie
Eddie's vision was clouded by gold once the two bleeding palms met. He wondered if Zat could get to him in time and realized in that split second that part of being so damned heroic was putting everything on the line and trusting someone else to keep him falling. He tried to close his mind's eye, flinching at the rush of a demon towards him and then snap the curtain fell.
The threads between himself and the walking doll cut and Eddie fell to the floor, heaving for breath and checking his hands to make sure it wasn't sliced. "You're allowed to have a little freak out." He told himself quietly. "No one's here, you can freak out." Eddie pushed his fist into the floor, folding in on himself for a quiet moment while his brain checked to see if there were any new passengers.
Nothing.
Eddie wobbled to his feet and flicked his hand, calling off the drone he sent downstairs. He then checked the nearest reflective surface, made sure his hair was neat and then went down the stairs for final curtain call. "How'd we do, Zat?" Eddie asked as he walked down the stairs, looking at the corpse he had just helped control. His voice had an airiness about it, confidence that he could easily put on like a tie. He turned to look at Zat, his back to Louis and mouthed a Thank you under his breath. She had earned his respect and that was a hard thing to do.
A turn on his heel and Eddie looked to see if Louis was okay. "I'd apologize for the smoke and mirrors, but that's basically both our gimmicks."
