Re: coffee: sam & neil
She saw that weariness, and it worried her, yeah? It made her all the more determined to see this shit with Meredith through, this double date thing, just to see if it made his life easier. Maybe it would make Cris less aggressive toward him, too. And she'd yell at Lou. It might not fucking do anything, but she was willing to try, yeah? And, ok, maybe this wasn't her shit to fix, but old dogs and new tricks or whatever, and she had a feeling he wasn't open with many people. She wondered, briefly, if he told Meredith things, but the thought didn't linger very long before he was talking about Lin and hanging out. "Baby, it's hanging out until someone's dick ends up in the wrong place." Her grin said she was teasing, yeah? Yeah, so he'd fucked around with guys at hotel parties or whatever, but she was pretty sure he was working on the whole 'staying faithful to Meredith thing,' yeah? But she worried about all of them - Lou, Daniel, Lin, because that shit had the potential to get really messy.
He wore discomfort like a fucking bright yellow raincoat on a sunny day, and she nudged him. "Hey. Stop that shit. It's fine," she assured him. And it was better than it had been; she wasn't bullshitting about that. Yeah, shit had sucked, but she wasn't good at grudges, and she didn't have even one fucking drop of anger for him.
"It was good seeing you too, yeah? Don't wait to long to check with your woman. The sooner she sees everything is cool, the better." She stretched, kissed his cheek, and then she shoved at his shoulder before turning to light her smoke in the quiet shadow of the building.
