[The mess of his hair makes her smile, and before they move too far apart, she reaches up to smooth a section of it through her finges. Not enough for it to lay flat, just enough for her to touch it. She doesn't want to move away, but there's only one other way to get them to the couch, and she doesn't want to actually give him a heart-attack by putting them suddenly there.
There isn't a lot of room between the two of them for Matilda, once she's sitting there. But enough. Enough that when she reaches over for Eddie's hand and twines their fingers together, she can rest them on Matilda's back. She smiles and nods a little at the mention of Felix. She's been in the door enough to know about the kitten, and knows that he'll appear soon enough to introduce himself. Cats often do.
