AMNH: Gwen & Pete
Peter never had time. More often than not he was running late to something, and it was usually his webslinging activities that interfered with the rest of his life-- he had almost missed his own high school graduation. That was pretty bad. But crime didn't stick to a schedule, and he couldn't exactly ask a criminal to hold off so he could get to class, or answer Jameson's call, or pick up stuff for Aunt May. He had lists. He had a list right now of things he had to do, and maybe running around a museum after-hours should've been somewhere in the middle, well... he kind of bumped it to the top. Which had a lot to do with who he'd be running around said museum with. He didn't think there would ever be a time when he didn't want to see Gwen, and with everything else going on, Carnage and Flash and even just the everyday stuff, he was looking forward to this. To seeing her. To having some fun. He had no idea she had confessions to make, cheerfully oblivious as he crossed the street to the darkened museum. Jeans, yellow and a jacket, definitely casual.
Okay, so he was also there to get his suit back. He was so disappointed in himself for letting her snatch it, and he hadn't even noticed until he was on his way home from class that it was gone. Sirens, a high-speed chase, and when he'd ducked into an alley to quickly change... his backpack was missing a very important item. He used to keep the red-and-blue on under his clothes, but a close call had spawned a rule: no wearing the Spidey suit on campus. Peter still had some regard for keeping his secret identity a, you know, secret.
Gwen'd never let him hear the end of it, though. Sigh.
The nice old guy let him in the service entrance, and he wandered the darkened halls trying to figure out where she'd ended up. He didn't have to walk--he had his spider powers with or without the suit--but he didn't want the custodian to see him swinging around just in case they crossed paths on his search. After a few minutes Peter showed up in the Hall of Ornithischian Dinosaurs, and his suit was the first thing he noticed. "Nice," he said aloud, turning in a half-circle until he caught sight of her on the sill. "If I break the dino getting it down, I'm blaming you, Gwen Stacy."
But then something occurred to him. He looked up, to where the suit was draped, and then back at her. "How'd you get it up there anyway?" He was expecting a simple answer... like, a ladder.
