    Forgotten Gods

"People believe. It's what people do. They believe. And then they will not take responsibility for their beliefs; they conjure things, and do not trust the conjurations. People populate the darkness; with ghosts, with gods, with electrons, with tales. People imagine, and people believe: and it is that belief, that rock-solid belief, that makes things happen."

    -- Neil Gaiman, American Gods

Forgotten Gods follows the deities of ancient mythologies, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers have moved on to new religions, the gods' powers have waned -- for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, intent on regaining the power that was once theirs and reviving their followings.

And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the old ones, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep, abiding wariness.

Inspired by the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, this game invites players to step into the roles of deities, old and new, to create their own modern mythology.

    ☾ Moonlight Nocturne
Welcome to Seattle, Washington, where the grass is green all the time, where the air always smells like the ocean, and where the next end of the world is scheduled to take place, T minus: now.

Something is happening in Seattle. People are showing up dead with no explicable cause, people are reporting seeing monsters in the streets late at night, and young men and women all around the city are beginning to change. Ordinary at first, but at a moment of danger they find themselves either drawn to it... or bringing it about.

You are a student, or maybe you're not. You are a businessman, or maybe you're not. You are a mother, a daughter, a son, a husband. You are a father, a sister, a brother. But you are also something else, something not meant for this world, but born into it for a specific cause: to defend it, or to overtake it. Who are you?

    ★★★

Moonlight Nocturne is an AU, PB Sailor Moon game set in present-day Seattle. A new race of soul snatchers has come to earth and is hell-bent on refueling its dying population with star seeds - and Seattle's population is first. The Celestians didn't plan on a fight, but who could have known the earth would have a bunch of guardians dressed in tutus? Actually, it was probably someone's job to find that out. Their bad.

We're an active, welcoming group of players currently in search of more males (and just about anyone else!) to join our cast!
