Edward rubs the back of his neck, thinking. "I think I do." He digs through some papers. "Ah, here it is. Yeah, I have one left on the fourth floor of the second building." He looked at her. "Rent's $100 a month. If you want, you can take this downtown and exchange it for cash. That'll be easier on you than carrying around gold and hoping people know the exchange rate. The place comes furnished, including a TV. Please ask Sarah to show you how to use it rather than break it like you did the door.
"This place is a safe haven. I expect you both to be on your best behavior. And yes, you may now have some apples, but remember, there's a lot of other residents here who want some.
"You pay for utilities and any extra you want, like cable or internet. We cover water, sewage, garbage, and we handle lawn care. There are laundry facilities in the basement, and rooftop access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
"When you're out of the apartment, we expect you to lock your patio door. There are fliers and wall crawlers around the place, and I don't want them getting in.
