Who: Vic and Fenix What: Drinks, questions and a proposition? Where: [A bar in NY?] When: Evening Rating: G (?) Status: Incomplete
The response to the advertisement she'd run twice now wasn't going as well as Vic had hoped. Number of candidates? Sure not so much a problem, but a lot of them didn't... Really fit with the team idea Vic had in mind. It was hard to explain but the number of interviews were beginning to make her head spin. This was a process, interviewing, that Vic had never extensively considered when Mayo said she could work on establishing a research group. Which shouldn't have been a surprise with her continued medical advancements regarding the experimental success of the goo injections. Mayo wanted more data, more tests, more advancements. They weren't one of the top hospitals and research centers in the US for no reason after all. Not to mention the generous allotment of money they spent out of their budget for medical advancements... Well, this really was no surprise, especially with some of her newer proposed projects and the organizations' history for taking on harder cases.
However, Vic did know at least a couple people she wanted on her team. She had an engineer, Mason Ward, and she had a test subject, Imogen Kline. Fenix Thomas would bring an interesting perspective due to his preference for children and honestly, he seemed like a very bright guy. A few people she still needed to contact but for the time she'd pick at who she knew one at a time. There were some doctors, or even other professionals, who would leap at work like this, but it didn't mean the people she wanted would. It was unfortunate, but that was one of the things that made the world beautiful, choice. Even if Vic wanted to smack people up side the back of their head's sometimes for the choices they did make. Thankfully though, she was past the point in her life were she 'just wouldn't' have been able to be friends with differing opinions. With a little tact most conversations that were a little too sensitive could be easily avoided, or a mutually respectful debate could be managed.
Either way, Vic had stationed her self at the bar in an easy to spot location so that Fenix could easily notice her when he finally arrived. Smiling easily at the bartender, much easier than she felt personally, a drink was ordered and a card was offered to run a tab on. Before long the glass of Merlot had been placed in front of her earning the barkeep another smile and the glass was leisurely retrieved. Where the heck was he?
