Hair pulled back, Kai answered the door half-dressed. Shirts were, honestly, worthless when one was chilling at their own house. He had also been cleaning the saltwater tank making clothing more optional with the size of the tank and amount of water one spilt on themselves while trying to fix the filtration system that replicated natural ocean changes in the environment he has created.
"Come on in," he announced as he opened the door for her. Grabbing her out of the doorframe and into a hug, Kai chuckled before setting her down and heading into the kitchen area.
The apartment was a spacious two-story studio with an open floor plan on the first story and rooms on the second. Brick met a modern look of clean-lined dark steel accents. The second-floor door could be seen from the living room as the entire middle area opened up the entire way.
"Do you want anything to drink?" Kai did not jump into chatting about his dreams and such. It all felt weird still. While he was close friends with Connie- and would have encouraged her to be open with him- Kai processed his issues in the recesses of his mind.
