Liam had drifted around his apartment, killing time til it was start to get ready to go to Caspian's. His snakes had been fed, the stove was definitely off, and the apartment had been locked behind him. It wasn't often he was explicitly invited to climb someone, let alone someone as good looking as Caspian was. Having Connie there was just that much better.
He'd just pulled up, and was climbing the stairs to Caspian's house, when his work phone rang. Ugh, not now. But he answered it anyway. One of the nurses was inquiring about a recovering patient, and he dutifully informed her of his condition as he remembered it from two days ago.
She apologized, saying she hadn't realized he hadn't been in. Liam assured her it was no problem, and wrapped up the phone call with a request to have a report ready for him when he was in tomorrow. "Of course. Have a good night, Dr. Taylor."
"I plan to, thank you," he answered, unable to stop the smile breaking out over his face. "You too, Rose."
He hung up, stowed the phone in his jacket pocket, and was finally able to knock on the door.
