He'd laughed and smiled more tonight than he had in months. Many months. And it felt so good and nice and right. Why? He didn't know, really. But Val was sweet and he liked her. He liked even more that they clicked. He'd been worried that she wouldn't get past his ED antics. He was glad she did, though.
There was another laugh and he nodded, pushing up to stand before grabbing for his crutches and take out bag. "Oh. She'll just start shoving to go boxes at us if we're not careful." They headed out and were met by Francisca at the door. She gave Val a hug and Tristan got a hug and cheek kisses, which was very much returned. "I promise to come back soon."
He slid into the car after her, smiling over at her. "He can take me home first, if you don't want me knowing where you live." He gave her a little knee nudge as he shifted in the back seat with her.
