He had been obnoxious, but he had also been persistent (and very attractive), so it had balanced out in the long run. And, in all honesty, she had tried to drug him into silence. It just hadn't quite worked, as he'd metabolized those drugs so quickly. Val had been a little afraid he wouldn't actually get pain relief from the meds, but he'd seemed comfortable enough by the end of that first night. Reaching over, she gave his casted leg a pat and said, with almost absolute certainty in her voice, "I'm sure you will on Monday. It seems to be healing up well. Um. Judging off of how you're moving around." She blinked and shook her head a bit.
"I won't tell your mother that you said that, either." It made her smile, the silly little comment. And it made her even more nervous to know they were going somewhere obviously special to him. This all of a sudden, felt like a more serious date than she'd initially thought of it as. "You'll have to tell me what to order when we get there. I won't have any idea what I'm looking at and I want to try the very best things." Val gave him a brighter smile. "What will I like? Can you give me ideas now, or should it be an adventure when we get there?"
Shrugging, she reached up and pulled her hair over her shoulder, combing through it with her fingers in a slightly nervous gesture. "Oh, my day was okay. No, there were no car surfers. Interestingly, there aren't often a lot of car surfers during the day. I don't want to shock you with that, but it's true."
