There were times that even though Patroclus -- known to most as Patrick Avery -- loved his line of work he really hated some of the people that he was sometimes contracted to work for. They were either idiots, assholes, or a combination of both. The great thing was that they needed his services more than he needed their money so it was no real problem to tell someone to lose his number as he wouldn't touch their systems again. Just because he could screw things up for people if he wanted to didn't mean he was available for just anyone. Besides, he had to be a little choosy with clients for a while until he knew just how messed up things were going to be now that the Olympians had started waking up and were aware of what Kronos had done. He needed to make sure that he was able to disappear at a moment's notice. He had no doubt that war would probably break out between the factions again; and no matter how much he didn't want to fight, he knew that Achilles would probably be pushed into fighting. They owed Kronos for reuniting them and giving them a better life, but Patroclus didn't want any of them to be involved in another war. Achilles, Thetis, Peleus, Cassandra. Four people that he loved dearly as a family and four reasons that he would fight if it came down to it. He sighed and ran his hands through his hair as he walked up to the door of the home he shared with Achilles. As far as he knew there were no plans tonight so maybe he would make dinner, or maybe they would order delivery. Delivery would be nice, actually. He was in the mood for Indian and his favorite place was nice enough to deliver to their neighborhood. Smiling and in a much better mood now that he had decided about dinner, he shifted the strap of his bag on his shoulder and let himself into the house. Kicking off his shoes and hanging the bag on the hook, he went looking for Achilles. They could order dinner and then decide what they were going to do with the rest of the evening. He had no clients tomorrow and no desire to be up early in the morning. |
