Iris just nodded in reply, because truthfully, there wasn't much she could say to that. She had gone through all of that because of Hera, and arguing or pacifying was pointless at this stage. Both of them had been through too much for that to be useful anymore.
She watched as Hera's hand shook that little bit, and had to wonder what about that had affected her so much. Something in this current life? Maybe. Maybe they could unload that information at another time. The times she was referring to were long since past, and she'd largely made peace with them. She was too damn old to keep that millstone around her neck for too long.
Her eyebrows rose as the water glass hit Hera's hand with a soft sound, and she looked from her to the glass and back again. "I knew it wouldn't last forever," she said softly. "And to think so was hubris. Which we know he has in spades. There is...a lot to think about here, but I'm not just dismissing the idea out of hand. What would I be doing? The days of needing me to deliver messages are long past, with the advent of cell phones."
