Summer was quickly coming to an end. And while Preston had already enrolled in classes, he was seriously debating on whether or not he should go back. Why should he? He wasn't some 22 mortal boy anymore. He was Zeus. King of the Gods. That's what Hera kept telling him. He was a King. He was the rightful King. Why should a God-King go to school? Except.... he still couldn't even make it rain normally. True, when he'd gotten angry during his talk with Gaia, thunder rumbled. But, it was probably a fluke.
So, he was torn. Though, he'd probably go. Preston's parents were accommodating, to a degree. But, if he were to just drop out of law school? There'd be questions. And, until he could prove that he was Zeus? He was still in this mortal life. Not that his life was bad. It wasn't. It was great, actually. He was able to do good, and not worry about things while he did those good things.
He was currently doing one of those good things now. With back to school nearing, he'd been shopping. Not for him, though. Typically his mother put together backpacks of school supplies for the children whose parents couldn't afford them. But, as she wasn't home yet, they duty fell to him. Which he was taking very seriously.
He was seated outside a coffee shop near his and Hera's home, making notes on what was needed. Backpacks, pens, pencils, paper, folders, notebooks, calculators. True, he had school supply lists, but, some of those things would be donated directly to the school. He leaned back in his chair, rubbing at his face before taking a sip of his nearly forgotten, now cold coffee. He didn't know how his mom did it. A lot of people thought she had people do it for her, but, she didn't. So, he wouldn't either.
He closed his notebook and stood, moving to the door to go get a new coffee. He held the door open, stepping to the side to allow a couple out, then he gestured to the person that had come up as the couple headed out. "After you."
