"I came home and started to undress. Got to the bedroom door and that was there. I took that knife," she paused to point at the one on the bedside table, "from behind the hall painting," she said pointing at the painting in the hall, "and did a sweep of my home. No one was here. Then I took a picture of it and sent it to Lara, who works at the Met, hoping she could probably identify it. It looks old, but not really old. Double checked the locks in the house, went over my files for the case this morning and went to bed."
That's when she waved over toward the laundry basket. "Picked up after myself this morning, but no I haven't actually touched this thing. I don't know where it's from." And she'd slept in her bed too, alone. "Skipped my usual late night snack and just went right to bed once I was calm enough to do it, and didn't tell Mr. Keen about any of this, because he's got more important things to think about."
