Persephone / Dionysus
"Dionysus," she said in the tone she remembered using with him before. It came so naturally. So long had she kept him at length as a brother, but never close enough. She'd been much more animated with the others, but with him there was always something holding her back. Apparently, even now.
When she turned to look at him, her eyes drifted up toward his face, even as she stepped forward. She took his hand gently in hers and gave it a squeeze. It was a way, she'd wanted to hold his hand for so long. Keres take her if he pulled away from her touch. She was sure she wouldn't be able to stand it. She took a steadying breath and her tone changed. "Dionysus," she repeated much softer. "I also wish this was under different circumstances. I had made plans to see you sooner, but..." Everything went to hell.
"You're well? Your wife? Have your children and retinue returned to you?"
