Upcoming Activity Check!

Our first activity check is coming up in just under a week. We're not going to kick anyone out for lack of points, but failure to respond to the check will result in removal! If you already know you're going to drop characters, please do so via the mod drop box.

The check will go up on Friday, February 1. It will run until the following Friday, which is February 8. All network posts will be worth 10 points, all logs will be worth 20. The initial trek into the words where in the first zombie was discovered will be worth 50 points.

Players will be responsible for tallying their own points and submitting the number of points earned for each character played. There's still a few days to earn points, but again, we will not remove anyone for lack of points.

Just a quick note: Characters who sign up for training ARE permitted to hold a second job--as they will most likely not be holding classes 24/7--and the Jobs page has been edited to reflect this. They are not required to hold two jobs, but if you would like them to multitask, feel free to request a second slot at your leisure.

So, it's been a week since we started the thread that's meant to have the first zombie revealed. The hunting party hasn't actually found the zombie yet, but rather than hold up the game we're going to announce it shortly. Once a post goes up, characters can start responding to the event, and the threat of zombies. And over the next few days, more zombies will be seen, and eventually all the towns people will be turned. Right now, the town people are still human, however you can now have your characters discover (and kill) zombies.

There is still a barrier around the city, expanded to included the woods. Over time the barrier may expand, it may even dissolve completely, but there is no way out of this reality, except to be turned, and then put down.

If you feel your character could be immune to the zombie infection, let us know so we can discuss and make sure we're all on the same page.

Please consider signing up! This is a great opportunity to get involved, and have your character meet other people before they're all thrown into zombieville!

Hiya! I'm Nick and I'm new to the game. I only have two characters here.

The first one is this lady, Karrin Murphy from The Dresden Files book series. She's up to date with the series and probably one of the most badass humans you will meet.

The other character is over at [info]the_boat. That is J.D. of Scrubs fame since you guys need more comedic relief and a doctor to patch you up. He's a goofy doctor with a habit of day dreaming.

Glad to be here! Let's plot, yeah?

I think it's about time we get this party started. By the weekend, some of our city's residents will have been here roughly a week. So far, everything has been calm in the city, no sign of trouble. There have been no zombie sightings, because there are no zombies. Yet.

That's about to change. The first zombie will be discovered this weekend. Just one, wheezing and dragging its feet, stumbling through the woods. Who will find it? Good question.

While it was previously stated that there was a bubble around the city preventing anyone from going past the city limits, the bubble has expanded. Characters can now move into the woods. Daryl discovered this while walking the perimeter. (Misha totally takes responsibility for messing up with the whole 'bubble around the city' thing. I either should have been more vague, or realised that the woods needed to be included in the bubble. This is a slight retcon, Li has already slapped me on the wrists for failing to consult with her about the bubble. But we found a way around it, so we're working it out!)

Rick will put up a post stating he's going to explore the woods. Every player can have one character opt to go with him. I'm limiting it to one character per player, because we don't need a gazillion characters all going out at once, but I want everyone to have a chance to participate.

Because this is a significant event, the mods are going to organise it. Based upon who replies to Rick's post, volunteers will be randomly split into groups, and the group that will actually discover the zombie will be chosen randomly. The zombie will be mod controlled.

Participation in this event will be worth 50 points. Signing up but failing to participate will result in a 10 point penalty. This is only to deter people from signing up then failing to participate. The log will start Friday night, and will probably roll over several days due to player availability and time zones. If you know you will not be able to play, please don't sign up!

The question has come up about what happens if a character tries to leave?

Simply put, they can't. Daryl Dixon described reaching the edge of town and feeling like he was walking in place. Sam Winchester reached the edge of town and flt like there was a barrier there. He couldn't see it, couldn't feel it, but he couldn't go any further.

The same thing would happen if someone were to drive a vehicle to the edge of town. Once they reach that point, it feels like the car is still moving, but the landscape never changes because the car isn't moving.

There's a bubble around the city, much like the dome of the Hunger Games. Can it be penetrated? It's too early to consider that, so for now, no! Or if it can be breeched, no character is going to figure it out for a while. We'll cross that bridge later on!

The landscape beyond the city limits looks normal. There's trees, perhaps another city off in the distance, and a road that trails off into the horizon. There's more of the world out there, but it's always off in the distance.

Now Open!

We are almost open!

Remember, we are opening in an idyllic little town setting, Characters will wake up in housing of your choice, but all will be in the same general area. There is an apartment complex, condos, and individual homes located within walking distance of each other.

The homes, no matter the type, are fully decorated, and stocked with plenty of food and clothes that fit any characters who find themselves living there. In addition, characters will find a backpack and smart phone as described in the premise.


Nearby stores are fully stocked, and staffed by NPCs. As with most panfandom town games (at least the ones I have encountered!) the NPCs will talk about anything except the town, or why characters are here. They're friendly enough but will kick you out of their establishment if you ask too many questions.

Please make sure your character has a job/responsibility. These jobs will not go into effect until the zombies rise and what not, but it will help us with in-game organisation and hopefully avoid unintentional conflict because people (characters and players) will know who is supposed to be doing what!

Opening Soon!

We will be opening soon! Yay!

In an effort to be organised, we have decided to have characters dropped into predetermined job/work positions. This is, of course, up to the individual player, and the characters will have know knowledge of this initially since we're starting off with a pleasant little town setting.

But if you could, please, CLICK HERE to go to the jobs post, and choose a job for your character to assume after we get into full on zombie mode. Please feel free to make suggestions if you think there's a position well suited to your character that is not listed.

Please do this as soon as possible. It will be required for all future character additions from today forward. Thanks! ♥
