Who Simon Briscoe & Mina Hansen Where The Slums; at the block party When After things go tits up What Helping someone together Rating Medium for mentions of violence maybe?
There were a lot of things that Simon Briscoe didn't enjoy doing, but going to the slums because there was a raid going on was at the very top of that list. He wasn't going for work, though. There was a huge likelihood that Abi was at that party. Not for any reason other than she happened to be in the worst places at the worst times and her friends happened to be terrible influences. He liked them well enough, but he knew damn well that they got into more trouble than young enforcers should. Even if she weren't there, Simon could at least try and help with damage control. The enforcers in this district were out of control and he hoped that maybe the personnel change from the top would help remedy that. He didn't have a lot of confidence in it, though.
When he got there, it was chaos. Simon heard it from down the block, so he broke into a run. He didn't really make it into the thick of things before he found somebody on the ground. He didn't recognize the man, but he looked like he'd been shot. Instead of continuing, Simon cursed under his breath and knelt down next to the man. The wound didn't look like it would be fatal, but he was bleeding and Simon needed a way to stop it.
Sitting back on his heels, he tugged off his jacket so he could try to stop the bleeding. This wasn't going according to plan, but nothing ever did. As he pressed the jacket to the wound, Simon tried to get the man's attention, but he looked like he was having trouble focusing. Great... Simon wasn't a doctor and he had a feeling the hospital wouldn't get an ambulance there fast enough. That, and the man clearly couldn't do much of anything, let alone hold the jacket on the wound while Simon called the emergency line.
