Alastair could take that credit, he deserved it. A lot of Summer's personality had been influenced by her "brother", she wouldn't be the person she was without him. She knew that, and he should too.
"Hey." She closed her book in her lap. "Yeah, a while. Didn't realize how late it was. How was the council today? Bossy, like usual?"
She knew Alastair interned for the council, and that he probably wasn't as well-appreciated as he should-- because she knew Alastair wasn't always the type to demand that kind of thing. But still, interning for the council, that was the kind of thing Summer hoped for after school. It seemed a natural progression. She wasn't sure if Alastair ever wanted to break beyond being the coffee-fetcher, her babysitter, or what have you, but she hoped for his sake that he did.
