WHO: Mena Holt and Arresting Officer Nik Bellamy
WHAT: Fugitive!
WHEN: Saturday, 8/11; 6:10am
WHERE: Nik's enforcer house place
RATING|STATUS: TBD | In progress
Alright, so perhaps hiding out near the enforcer barracks when she was supposed to be hiding from the enforcers and council members, but in Mena's defense, she was definitely hidden while she waited for Nik to wake the hell up and respond to her text. Normally, she would have gone to Abi's house, and Mena knew that her friend's enforcer dad would look after her and not turn her in if things went south for her own dad, but if Gabe was telling the truth, then her presence at the Briscoe home would put them in danger because that's the first place they'd look for her. Harper's would be second. The two homes would likely be searched anyway, but not finding them, letting them honestly say they hadn't seen her and didn't know where she was, that would get them off the hook. Now Nik, no one would think to look for her there. As far as anyone else knew, she hated him. He still wasn't her favorite person even after his 'apology' the other day, but she didn't totally hate him anymore. If anyone gave her shit, it was because he was cute and that's all. It was hard to hate cute boys. Mena had almost given up the hope that the idiot would be of any use to her before the sun came up, but then that blessed notification came, and she was off toward his specific unit once she had the number. Now, she'd intended for him to get the door before she had to stand in front of it and increase the risk of being seen there, but naturally Nik was the worst and lazy and took his time so she was actually waiting outside for several minutes, unable to knock or make any noise that might alert his neighbors to her presence. "Jesus, finally," she muttered, pushing her way inside with one last glance over her shoulder. "How thin are these walls? Can anyone hear us right now?" |
