Better Late Than Never?
Since yesterday was officially declared Edie Sedgwick Day across the world by our very own founder seasonoutoftime I decided to make some icons (something I'll never be professional at, but it's the thought that counts *g*):
And as there was a bargain "buy one get one free" at day declarations, I had myself my very George Orwell Day at YouTube. I stumbled upon the 1954 BBC adaption (by Quatermass creator Nigel Kneale) of 1984, starring the great Peter Cushing as Winston Smith and Donald Pleasence as Syme. This has long been commercially unavailable in the UK at least, as far as I know and it was an unexpected pleasure to actually finally see it. Later I followed it up with the more recent BBC docudrama George Orwell - A Life In Pictures, which uses actors to simulate archive footage but uses George Orwell's real words from his books, essays and letters. Fascinating viewing.
And you too, oh lucky reader, can come along and follow the historic journey I took as I'm about to provide you with my own treasure map (other Orwell and related viewing material can be found at Ge0rge0rwell - a complete treasure trove for Orwell groupies :D):
