WHO: Kate Bishop and Thor
WHAT: A hunting trip becomes a rift adventure!
WHEN: Today!
WHERE: Around, and then a fire swamp!
WARNINGS: TBD but probably none, though spoilers for Infinity War
STATUS: In Progress
One big advantage of Steve turning up, beyond Bucky having his best friend back, was that Kate felt more at ease spending longer periods of time with each of her friends. The truth was she had been worried sick for them all, trying to be there for all of them and desperately wanting to somehow make things better for them. When the truth was, she couldn't. She couldn't undo what Thanos had done to them. Nor could she reassure them that it would somehow, miraculously be okay. She believed it was possible, based on the experiences of her timeline, to reverse what the Gauntlet had done. But even if that happened, she wasn't naive enough to think that such a battle wouldn't come without great cost.
But one thing she could do was try to alleviate the guilt consuming Thor. Kate felt, right down in her soul, that Thor was not to blame for what had happened, just as she felt about Wanda. Both of the Avengers were good people, who may have reacted with human flaws (even the Asgardian god) but still at their core were good and unselfish people.
Today's method, now that the dust from the last battle had settled, was to go on a hunting trip with Thor. Having sent Lucky off to play with others at the Lodge, not wanting him to get caught by any stray arrows, Kate all but bounced up to Thor, with a soft smile on her face and her bow slung over her shoulder.
"Okay, so I think we should find something worth roasting to celebrate our victory," she nodded decisively. "So maybe check if there are more boar to the north?"
