Gabriel had to smile. "So long as I'm here you have your cage. All that mojo has to be good for something right?" The rest of her little speech turned his expression serious. "I would follow your newer instinct. I'd rather assume she was alive and he wrong than assume she was dead and have her die because we did." His voice was firm as he said. "If your senses lead us that way they that's the way we'll go. I can't hear anything either but I think it's easy to believe the girl is, at least, unconscious by now."
She was magnificent when she extended her senses. She moved differently, hyper aware. She looked eminently capable, didn't need Gabriel to tell her where to go but he appreciated she checked with him for confirmation. He closed his eyes. "The girl is alive," he said after a moment "and, yeah, you were right. She's to the West of us. I get the feeling we don't have long to get to her so... let's get to it."
He turned to Clark and Sonya, both looked fit and able at least and, well, Clark was not what he appeared to be. He would be a valuable assess. The girl he didn't know but that would change when he say her fight. "OK, boys and girls. Weren't heading West. My aim is to get the girl out safely. Yours is to take the vampire who took her, alive. I can provide a cage to put her in, wheels included, but I'm pretty sure dusting the vamp is a no-no. As for the fighting, I'm staying out of it unless it looks like one of you is likely to get a new hole. Are we set?"
