Once she allowed herself to realize it was Gabriel, only Gabriel, she forced her body to relax. Her claws sliding back into place, her stance straightened. Her breathing settled into a more normal rhythm. His question, once it sank in, urged a very small smile from her. She had met the man with 'Spidey Senses', hadn't cared for him much. More due to Logan disliking him than anything else, though he did talk a lot with a rather obnoxious manner with it.
"They are conflicting. Everything I learned before coming here... All my training, the discipline, the conditioning... All says to be realistic with this situation, the girl is dead and to go in for the kill." She paused looking away from him, her brows drawn together. "But everything that I have learned here, the person I have become rather than the weapon that I was... Is overriding that instinct, it says to hope the girl is alive, to go in for a rescue, plan for a live extraction. I do not know what to do with the vampire once she is caught. We do not have a cell in which to store her, anywhere she could be placed for supervision is not light safe." It was strange to care about what happened to both parties, and anyone within her own. "The rest of my senses tell me that she lies in that direction. Within the wood, yet I do not hear any screams, whimpers or crying." She nodded toward the dark shadows of the trees beyond the where the gravel trail ended.
Her lips pursed, her eyes lifting to meet his. "What do your's tell you?" There was the tiniest needy part of her that longed to step over and take any affection she could get from the archangel at the moment. Anything that could ease the conflict within her own head. Yet she stayed where she was. It would not do, if the vampire could hear them, for Drusilla to know there was one in the group that could be used against the other.
