Gabriel wasn't really there to fight. He was there to heal the young lady and anyone else hurt in the fray and, though he didn't say, to keep an eye on Laura she probably didn't need but he didn't feel like taking the chance.
He shifted to stand close to her but not crowd her. He knew she didn't need to be babies and certainly when she was in battle mode. Gabriel himself was in mission mode. "What do your spidey senses tell you?" he asked her, a serious layer under his casual tone. He scanned the area visually but he didn't really need to. Laura was the guide, he was the healer and the others were on their way. Gabriel moved away a little, gave Laura her space, slipped his hands into his pockets. His expression was pensive, serious. He only hoped when they got to the girl he could... He knew the moment he got there there was no going home. If she was gone there was no way Gabriel could retrieve her.
