Working on Obama's campaign trail had been the greatest experience of Rory Gilmore's life, bar none. The only thing it lacked was her family and friends, but she had accepted long before going that once she found a job she would more than likely have to leave them from time to time. Her dream was to see the world, and to do that, she wouldn't be able to stay in Stars Hollow, Connecticut for her entire life. It was the knowledge, however, that she would be able to see the people she loved once she finished this job that kept her spirits up. There had been no definite timeframe attatched seeing as if Obama left the race early, that would be the end of her job. But she knew that eventually she would see her loved ones.
Now, she wasn't so sure. She had been on her way back to Stars Hollow when she arrived here. It was as though she was picked out of thin air and landed into an office. There, she was told she would be managing a night club. While Rory was the type of person to accept challenges with little complaint, she didn't like this one bit. She had gone to school, Yale of all places, and gotten a degree to be a journalist. Not a night club manager. And she had been really looking forward to a Godfather marathon with her mother. She really, really wanted to see her mother.
She sighed softly as she stepped into her cabin and made her way up the stairs toward her room--the room she was staying in here, anyway. As far as she was concerned, her room was in her mom's house in Stars Hollow. She stopped short midway up the stairs, however, when she saw a familiar face coming out of the bedroom next to hers. "Dean?" the name escaped her lips before she even realized it. This was unreal. The last time she had seen Dean Forrester was when they broke up during her sophomore year of college--the final breakup. God, so much had changed since then, where would she even begin catching him up?
