If Quinn hadn't been feeling uncontrollably angry, the touch on her back and his comforting words might have given her knees that familiar weakness, where she felt like she could fall into his arms right then and there. But while the thought occurred to her, it didn't change the fact that it only served to anger her more, especially after his comment about going through this once before. She was determined for the sticks to give her the answer she wanted, not what Puck was telling her. Not what Rachel had told her. She didn't want to be pregnant at sixteen. She didn't want to have any forced connection to Puck.
"It will only be fine if those sticks give me the answer I think they will," she snapped, moving her body away from him so that there was space for one person in between them. Without anyone to sit there it didn't really make much of a difference, she was still basically sitting next to Puck, just not as close. But for some reason the effect made her feel a little better. It wasn't as though he was going to move closer to her just because she moved away, was he?
