It was hard not to wrinkle his nose as she got closer. Oddly enough he liked her a good bit more than any of the others. She was little but she was fierce, you had to respect that. And she was willing to help him, something he doubted Edward would do without some prodding from Bella.
She didn't have to speak loudly for him to hear her. And once she was close enough he straightened up from behind a shrub. The leafy greenery kept him from being exposed, but he still cupped his hands over his more sensitive parts. Poison Ivy would be really bad to brush against, even if it didn't last long.
