She liked his smile, and the way he looked at her. After a moment of hesitation, Lorna sat in the booth opposite his, setting her plate of Jell-o cubes down. A surreptitious glace at the bar reassured her that she wouldn't be needed in the next ten minutes or so. That would be long enough for a nice, distracting conversation.
"Sounds like a rough day, having to play on the beach all day." She laughed a little, winking so he'd know she was joking. "I'm Lorna. I bartend here. Mind if I hang out with you until my break is over?"
