"It's a date," he grinned. "I'll try not to be too hard on you. It'll be a learning experience after all."
He nodded, figuring he could understand that. From what little he understood of Laura, heck, just from watching the movies, he could see life was a bit of an adventure for these guys. Looking out for one another was a concept he also knew well. He'd bounced around from one place to the next until he'd wound up at NCIS, and now even if he tried, he couldn't deny being protective of his close knit and quirky little family. He also knew they were protective of him. Which was a nice feeling.
Her sharp look had him pausing, until he realised what it was about. "I get it, your worried the sharply dressed," that was said with a bit of humour, "older guy is going to come along and hurt your young friend. As it happens, she was sort of the one who pushed this whole thing. One minute we were watching movies together, the next thing we're having a strip snowball fight," he laughed. He'd had fun introducing her to movies. They were his thing after all. "It's nothing serious, but she thinks I don't know her feelings run a little deeper than mine." He tapped his nose in a gesture of knowing. "We'll just have to be careful about that."
