Teddy had noticed the person sit down beside him; he hadn't had so much to drink that he'd lost the use of his peripheral vision. Still, he didn't bother looking at whoever it was. The bass beat from the dancefloor over the other side of the room reverberated through him, emphasising the numb feeling that was spreading through him. Numb... Numb was good.
Teddy lowered his drink back to the bar as he heard the person beside him talk. It was a woman's voice, but not the one he really wanted to hear. Then again, he knew if it had been Victoire, it would have just sent a spasm of anger and hurt through him. He couldn't stop imagining that creep's hand all over her. Even though she'd been hypnotized at the time, how could she have let him inside her?
His jaw tight, Teddy growled, "Yeah, well gimme another hour and I'll be there." The desired effect was to be so drunk he couldn't piece together thoughts about Victoire and her demon lover, and he was well on the way to getting there. "Now, are you done gawping?" he said, turning his head to glare at the woman beside him. He immediately felt a little guilty about being rude to the stranger. It wasn't anyone's fault but that Damien.
