This was ... unusual Who: Lily, Snape When: post-arrival, late morning Where: just outside the main lodge What: Extreme confusion, arrival, fury, awkwardness ... this'll be fun. Status: Complete ...i feel compelled to point out that i oops'd in the comments and it was brought to my attention and I usually actually can find the ends of sentences, and am not usually such a dunce.
It had been an utter impossibility. She wasn't in England; that had become clear fast enough. She hadn't believed the whole story about being an employee here, despite the nametag and the rest of the ridiculousness. Her demands to be brought home had been ignored, and she'd been shuffled out of the office and directed to her "new home".
She was furious, she was confused, and she was frightened. Of the three, she preferred the fury because it left her feeling less helpless. While she was determined to find a way back home, and to James and her upcoming wedding ... she supposed she wasn't going to find it by sitting around her room. It was a nice room, really, all things considered, but that was mostly irrelevant just then. It wasn't her room, and it wasn't her home.
To add to that, she had very little idea how to take care of a horse. Which, apparently, was now her job. They couldn't have given her something she could manage, like ... being a receptionist or something? They had to stick her in a stable full of giant animals that would likely end up breaking her toes? Or worse! Didn't horses bite? The only experience she had with them, really, was a pony at Tuney's 12th birthday party.
Her jaw clenched and her emerald eyes sparked with utter ... rage which she toned down to annoyance. It wouldn't be fair of her to just ... go off on the first person she met. It wasn't their fault she'd been sucked into this mess. Probably, anyway.
Exhaling a long breath, Lily rolled her shoulders. So, first things first then. She figured she should go down to the stables and find out what, exactly, she was in for as a groom. And the stables were ... where, exactly? Standing in the path just outside the main lodging, Lily looked around curiously, and a bit helplessly.
