Pike snorted, slightly derisive. "Don't expect secrets to keep for long here. Won't happen." Miracles, in his experience, didn't. Last thing they needed was the manager finding out they had a secret little safe haven from the people they were supposed to be dancing for. For some reason, Pike didn't think that would go over too well. "Enjoy it while it lasts," he added darkly, looking at the selection to avoid looking at her as he said it.
Yeah, his mood wasn't really what one would call stellar.
He glanced back up at her when she asked about his choice. He glanced at the selection again before shrugging. "Something hard." He didn't much care what it was. Alcohol was alcohol. He watched as she got out the whiskey and nodded towards it. "That'll work."
He just wanted to drink. He didn't have any illusions about getting drunk, there was no way he'd be able to do that without giving away his status as a nonhuman given the fact that no human could take the amounts of alcohol he could, but the taste of it, the burn of it down his throat, and the psychological effect were nice. And he could at least get a tiny little bit buzzed. It would have to be enough.
