WHO: Dorian and Rachel
WHEN: Saturday morning
WHERE: The Velvet Room
WHAT: Private duet
RATING: TBD, but it's Dorian, so liable to be flirty if nothing else
STATUS: Incomplete
It hadn't been hard to get the keys to the restaurant. After all, the duty manager was a woman. As long as he had them back to her by three o clock, no one would be any the wiser. Dorian had let himself in about half an hour earlier, helped himself to a whiskey from the bar and was currently sitting at a small table near the plinth where the grand piano stood, slightly raised from the rest of the seating area. It gave him a good vantage point when he was playing. He could scan the crowds, gage reactions to his music, and even see if anyone cuaght his eye. Unfortunately, the majority of the guests were woefully plain. He missed London. London was full of interesting people. If you wanted dirty minds and even dirtier people, you headed East to Spitalfields and Whitechapel. If you wanted finary and secrets, you went West to Kensington and Pal Mal. Here there was a mix of people, most plain, all dull.
Except for the staff. Damien was, of course, anything but dull. He'd proven that the other day. Just the memory of the way his hands had felt on Dorian's skin sent shudders through him. Then there was Heather, his lucky Heather. She was beautiful, it was true, and her modern way of talking and acting captivated Dorian's imagination. Marian and Robin were legendary, yet so down to earth. And the stunning Victoire, with her allergy to charm. He had yet to meet a dull staff member. He hoped this Rachel girl didn't break his record.
Lifting his whiskey glass to his lips, Dorian stood up and made his way across to the piano. The lid of the grand was down, and he rested his glass on it while he sat down, running his slender fingers across the ivory keys. The instrument made a beautiful sound when he played, singing to his touch. Taking a deep breath, he shut his eyes, his fingers beginning to caress the keys as he started to play Chopin's Nocturn in E minor.
