Upon entering, a group of girls that looked to be no older than sixteen began to rush towards him. All at once, their hormonal thoughts entered his mind and he staggered back trying to keep them out. “Edward!! Can we have your autograph?!” So many teen girl voices came at once, he was in shock. Needing more than anything for them to go away, he grabbed a pen one of them was holding up and quickly signed all of their pictures and notepads. They skidded away, squealing about how they had just met Edward Cullen. Inhaling deeply, his eyes were growing shades darker by the minute. He pushed forward, his eyes down, trying to hide himself. He reached the front desk, and looked around not even looking at the girl who was standing there. “Can you tell me how to get to the forest?” He asked, anxiety running through his veins. He needed to feed, but in that moment an all too familiar scent filled his lungs. Very slowly and cautiously, he turned towards the woman at the desk, pulling his sunglasses off as he laid eyes on just who he had thought: Bella.
His dark eyes held confusion and pain. What was she doing here? Was this his punishment? An eternity spent with Bella teasing and torturing him? Flames and burning would have been easier to handle. He stepped back quite a few steps, fear and uncertainty in his eyes. “Bella…” was all he could say and even that was in a hushed voice. For a long moment, his eyes stayed with hers but he couldn’t form any other words…he just stared. His heart tightened as he fought tears that stung at his eyes. How could this be happening?
