Alex wore a simple outfit suitable for hiking, and for moving in the darkness. Years of outdoor skills let him thread the trails effortlessly, despite being fairly new to them. He enjoyed the outdoors, the feeling and quiet of the cold air, and the simple relief from the constant pounding of the sun.

As he walked the trails, knowing she could and would find him, he rolled his neck and cracked it, his senses alert to dangers on and off the trail.
