Bella backed away towards the bay door, managing a little smile. "Yeah, me too," she said quitely. It was true; just like she couldn't funtion propperly without Edward, she was equally lost without Jake. She took a deep breath. "I'll talk to you later, yeah?" she asked, her hand on the edge of the door. She wanted to talk more to him, perhaps on the network at a safe distance, just to dispell any lingering awkwardness after her little outburst. She hadn't meant to go so mental on him, but she hoped he'd understand why it all bothered her so much. The shocks in the fourth book were terrifying her, but at least Jake was here with her, and they could get through this together. He must have been just as horrified as her after all.
Her eyes lingering on him for a moment, she smiled again before slipping out of the door and heading back around the side of the bay, towards the cabins. She hadn't realised she was holding her breath, but now she was alone again, she felt the air flooding back into her lungs. She needed to be more careful around Jake. Of course she felt something for him, but she didn't have a clue what, and it wasn't fair of her to lead him on. She knew that she had to keep a check on herself, or she'd end up putting them both in an awkward situation. Besides, she was beginning to like Leah, and she didn't want to hurt her.
Keeping her eyes on the ground, she sighed, following the path away from the golf cart bay, a lot calmer than when she walked down in many ways, but feeling a whole different kind of worry.
