"Jealous?" He couldn't help but put a little teasing in the word. He found it difficult to believe that she was jealous. He had only heard 'not like that'. If it wasn't 'like that' why would she be jealous. He wanted to rub her arms as he might have if he wasn't dirty. But he kept from doing just that to keep from wiping the grime onto her shirt.
"If I can help it I'm not going to have those feelings towards your kid here. If the block holds, and it works... I should be able to make the choice, rather than the choice being made for me." Sure he had those feelings for Leah, but there were still lingering feelings for the girl he held in his arms. Nothing he would admit to. That only served to cause aches for them both.
He leaned back and put his fingers beneath her chin again. Raising her face so that he could see her reaction when he asked. "Are we okay?"
