WHO: Bella and Jake WHEN: Monday morning WHERE: Golf Cart Bay WHAT: Bella confronts Jake about imprinting on her daughter RATING: PG-13/TBD STATUS: Incomplete
Bella was just glad she didn't have to work today. She could barely think straight, let alone sit and put up with a stream of fans for hours; checking them into their rooms, hearing their opinions on her life. She didn't know why the whole imprinting thing bothered her so much. Who Jacob loved was none of her business. She just needed to keep telling herself that. He was her best friend, and that wasn't going to change. She was happy he had Leah, and that he had chosen to be with her.
Even as she made her way down the path towards where Jake worked, she couldn't quite convince herself of that. Was it jealousy? She knew she'd felt a slight twinge of it when she'd found out he was with Leah, but that was just because she was used to having a claim on him. But being jealous of her own daughter, who hadn't even been born yet? She really was being insane, although she'd never tell Jake that. At the moment, she just wanted to see him, have him there... possibly shout at him... a lot! She knew it wasn't his fault. She really did. But even when Edward had left her, even when she'd thought he didn't love her, didn't care about her, she hadn't just been able to stop loving him. Could it really be such a strong pull, this imprinting, that Jacob would want to be with her daughter more than her, even though she was married... and dead? He'd said he loved her, and Bella knew that love was stronger than anything else.
Making a little noise of frustration, she ran her hand through her hair as she approached the golf cart bay. "Jake?" she called, her voice shaking slightly as she looked around, her face set into a stormy expression. "Jacob Black!"
